Home Grown Cucumber

Today we picked our second cucumber which was a normal size and had it for lunch.  How cool is it when you can walk out to your backyard and collect food like this.  It was delicious and there's plenty more where that came from.  One little thing that I have to remember is Sienna kept saying "Mum, can I do the honours, I want to do the honours" as she wanted to be the one to slice our first (well second but our first large) cucumber.  It was so cute.

Sienna trying to be mysterious with her tennis racket.  Check out the corn growing behind her.

  1. Your garden and Sienna are both flourishing! Outdoor cucumbers would never grow here, so I am most envious :).

  2. Wow, look at the size of the cucumber. And its freshness just jumps out of the photo!

  3. How great is it to walk out and collect the makings for lunch or dinner from your garden, just never gets boring!! We have lovely cucumbers at the moment too and I love the slice them thing long ways and let them sit in a type of pickle of white wine vinegar, salt, sugar & cracked pepper. Leave for an hour or so and it makes them a gorgeous addition to a wrap or hamburger with the zingy flavour.
    Warm regards,
