Update on Rag Quilt for James

I've cut out all the fabric and wadding for James quilt and have made a start on sewing the strips together.  I've used five fabrics in a row (these are 5 inch strips) and then a blue smaller (3 inch) strip in between the set of 5 for my pattern.  I will probably end up doing 3-4 repeats of this pattern.  I love the bright colours and it's so different to Sienna's quilt.  James is very excited that I am making him a quilt but I'm not showing him the fabric and can't wait to finish it and give it to him.  This will probably be next week sometime.  I haven't had a lot of time this week to work on it but here's where I'm up to.  Sienna's Rag Quilt can be seen here and here.

The seams which are on top of the quilt are to be cut and this is what gives it the ruffle/rag effect.

  2. He is going to love this - such bright colours! And the sequence of photos of Sienna opening her quilt is lovely - I missed it first time round.

  3. I love the colours even more now that they're all together! It's going to look great. Oh and just in case you didn't notice in the first paragraph you typed Sienna's Rage quilt instead of rag quilt which gave me a little giggle.
