Around Here

Around here we are nearing the end of the school holidays and we've had time to go on a bush walk, try ice skating, see the new Ice Age movie and tomorrow we are going to some Farmers Markets.  Here's a few pics from our holiday.

Winter doggy slippers....

A bit of crochet and snacking on Jatz while watching a DVD.

The kids got to try outdoor ice skating at the Brisbane Winter Festival in the city.

Family snap.

Aunty Lisa (my sister) with the kids trying to get a photo.

Collecting leaves.

The last of the pretty autumn leaves.

Helping my sister with some photography tips...

Holiday down time on the iPad.

Ready for the bush walk.

Such pretty light.

There were 3 of these pretty little birds on the table.  We think they are these.

  1. I love how a Winter bush walk in Qld is shorts and a jumper, anywhere else in the country, and it would be rugged up to the max LOL!

    1. Only the kids my sister and I were rugged up... But we are lucky in Qld in winter but that particular day we had a real winter chill in the air. It was great going on the bush walk and we cooked sausages and onion on the wood fire for lunch before we went on the walk.

  2. Hi, Kathy. Your bushwalk photo has reminded me that I haven't walked up at Mt. Glorious for a while now. Isn't it wonderful to be under the trees! Meg:)

    1. Meg I haven't taken the kids on that particular walk for years myself so was thrilled to do it again. I took a photo of Sienna by that sign by herself also because I have one of her standing there when she was two and a half years old when we had relatives here from Melbourne visiting.

  3. It's so strange to see your children ice skating with only t-shirts on, when down here is South Australia it was 5° overnight, not that I would change that, I love winter.

    1. My sister and I had long sleeves as we were cold ... The kids were wearing jackets skating and got hot so took them off. The day we went bush walking it was a low of 9 but because of the wind it felt like zero... But we are lucky here that's for sure. Kathy

  4. Looks like you had a very relaxing holiday. I have not been ice skating in years. I think you are right about the bird.
