I had a rare weekend away to visit my friend down at Rainbow Bay and we just chilled and talked and laughed which was great. I normally drive along the highway into NSW and head back over the QLD border as Rainbow Bay is a Street away from the border so I have stayed away for the past year given Covid-19 and border closures and didn't want to go into NSW. I could stay in QLD and still go to Rainbow Bay however it was just as easy to wait until things settled down. It was nice and relaxing and here's a few pics.

DeleteWhat wonderful photos! I'm glad you got some time in such a lovely place, and with a friend too - looks perfect. We are hoping to be able to resume our childcare bubble this week, and get to see my daughter, son-in-law and little granddaughter (not seen any of them since October). It's lovely when things begin to feel a little bit more relaxed, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteYes family is everything and that was the thing that was hardest during our 8 week lockdown [we are so lucky here] poor old Melbourne had almost 7 months of lockdown and of course the rest of the world as well. I'll bet you can't wait to see them...that's the hardest part. Have a good week Alexa.
DeleteKathy, I love the photos. I am not sure I have ever been to Rainbow Bay but probably went there when I was younger and used to go to the Gold Coast. I haven't ventured down that way for many years as the roads are beyond me now. Who knows when borders are going to be shut down quickly in these times so I usually stay close to home.
ReplyDeleteI never knew where Rainbow Bay was to be honest. When I was 16 my sisters boyfriend and his siblings bought a house on Kennedy Drive on the Tweed River so we used to go down there for weekends and go to Twin Towns RSL and in those days a person with a drivers license could sign in 2-3 people so we would get in, play the pokies with the handle, have dinner, go dancing and watch a band. Rainbow Bay is one street over from Twin Towns however it was only when my friend bought a unit there 12 years ago that I started going down there and staying for the weekend. It's such a lovely little beach.
