Birthday Tradition

On my Birthday the year Sienna was born I had a photo taken with the kids and Birthday cup cakes.  Each year on my Birthday I have continued this tradition and take the same photo and now I have 12 years of photos starting when Sienna was 6 months old.

I don't really care about presents on my Birthday as long as I get my "Birthday Photo" and hand made cards from the kids I'm good.  Here's a look at the last 12 years starting with Friday's photo for 2017.  The cupcakes have been purchased from the same bakery every year although it has changed hands over the years.  One year they ran out  so I had to buy some other ones from the supermarket in 2007.

The photos for the last 10 of the 12 years have been taken by me using a tripod and remote.  Get in the pics with your kids Mums.  As I'm the birthday girl I get to eat 2 cupcakes.

  3. What a gorgeous tradition! I'm going to tell my girls (who are a long way off from being mothers). It's something they can do later in life. Love it!

    1. Yes do that.....there is a group called "Self Portraits of Motherhood" and I wish this was around when my kids were babies...check out their blog posts. In other words Mums need to get in the picture just being mothers. Ellen Covey is the mastermind and her self portraits are stunning....she takes them all herself.
