Around here - Birthday

One more week to go until the school holidays and this year is flying by with just over 14 weeks until the end of the year.  I remember thinking how far away the year 2000 was and also watching the show "Beyond 2000" which seemed like light moons away at the time.  I also remember IBM telling us that people will have computers in their homes... at the time I was thinking "why would people need computers in their home" it seemed like such a crazy idea back before the internet.

Just one generation before me [my Mum's generation] not everyone had cars and now we all have computers on our phones and kids have them as well...I can't imagine what they could invent in the next generation.  It's amazing when you think about it really.  Mind you I do not understand why a phone can cost over $2,000 as I think that's outrageous.  I'm always a few models behind the latest one so I don't pay very much for them.

Here's a few photos from the last couple of weeks.

Smokey Black bean soup.
